Growing up in Thailand gave Bour-Ngam access to a rich artistic tradition of jewelry making unique to his homeland. However, it wasn't jewelry design that initially brought him to the United States. It was psychology. A little over a year after he moved to this country to pursue a Master's Degree in Psychology, Bour-Ngam was randomly selected to become a U.S. citizen through the Diversity Visa Program. Call it luck, if you will, but the chance to make a fresh start in his new country spawned a creative rebirth, inspiring Bour-Ngam to follow his passion and talent for jewelry design.
Determined to make the most of his opportunities, in 2003 Bour-Ngam opened The Colorstones in Roswell, Ga., a full-service bead and jewelry store that quickly attracted jewelry designers from across the Southeast. The store became such a hit, in 2004 Bour-Ngam opened a second store in Midtown Atlanta. Over the years, he has shared his creativity and skills with hundreds of local jewelry designers. That openness has earned Bour-Ngam a reputation as a rising star who has never lost touch with his creative roots.
